About Owensboro River City Kennel Club Inc.
General
The Owensboro River City Kennel Club meets the first Tuesday of every month at the ORCKC building at 815 E 4th St, here in Owensboro, KY at 7:00 PM central time.
The Board of Directors meet the first Tuesday of each quarter.
We hold a sanction match each year on the Saturday before Mothers Day in May.
Our All Breed show is held annually in October.
We offer breeder referral service, conformation training classes, educational seminars, and community involvement.
Objectives
The Owensboro River City Kennel Club, Inc. was founded for the purpose of:
Promoting and encouraging responsible ownership of purebred dogs.
To further the advancement of all breeds of pure-bred dogs.
Educating the community on the many responsibilities and benefits of owning a purebred dog.
To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of all breeds of pure-bred dogs and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, matches and trials.
To conduct sanctioned matches, conformation dog shows, and obedience trials under the rules of The American Kennel Club.

| ORCKC owns property at 815 East 4th Street in Owensboro. Here we have a meeting building which fronts East 4th and provides space for our monthly meetings and social gatherings. Behind this is our heated and air-conditioned training building where we hold classes and practice sessions throughout the year. We hope to eventually fence in our side yard for additional practice space. On-street parking is available in front and additional parking in the rear is accessible from the alley which runs from Center Street to Tripplett. |

As of 2010, our new show site is the Hines Center off Hwy. 54. This beautiful location provides indoor and outdoor grooming, 6 indoor rings and 2 outside rings, as well as ample parking. |

| Our annual Puppy Match is held outdoors in May in Owensboro's Chautauqua Park at 1201 Bluff Ave. |

Inclement Weather Policy
Our weather policy for canceling meetings or events is as follows:
In the event of bad weather the following apply:
1. Tornado watch in the counties surrounding Owensboro--- meetings will be held.
2. Tornado warning in Owensboro--- meeting will be cancelled.
3. When Owensboro School system is cancelled due to snow or inclement weather, meetings or events will be cancelled.
4. For Flood warnings and Thunderstorm warning use personal discretion for attendance however, meetings or events will remain as scheduled.
In the event of a tornado warning sounding while meeting or event are in progress:
1. Personal discretion is in force regarding leaving the building to return to homes.
2. If individuals remain in the office or training building, it is advised members seek shelter in the office hallway or bathroom until the all clear can be heard.
CANCELATION CALL LIST
The President will officially cancel any meeting or event. She will then call the Vice President and notify that office. Both President and Vice President will call the five Board of Directors and the call list will begin.
